I’m turning 65 this April and I am planning to mark this milestone by releasing a very special collection of new recordings that will include many of my creative partners past and present, spanning much of my five decades of professional activity as a musician. I've written a lot of songs since my last release and I'm well on my way, recording this batch. In fact, I've assembled enough material to release TWO full-length albums, so it's become a rather ambitious undertaking. I could really use some help bring this project over the finish line.
So far, the cast of musicians includes Jason Crosby, Eric Ambel, Jon Graboff, Char Rothschild, Mark Clark, Paul Pearcy, Mo Roberts, Ronnie Johnson, Craig Dreyer and James Raymond among others (including some very special surprise guests!)
I’ve launched this crowdfunding campaign to help cover at least some of the expenses that will be incurred in making this album. First and foremost, now more than ever, all of the musicians will need to be paid a fair wage for their participation. I’ll be doing as much of the recording as possible (and all of the mixing) at my studio but, since many of the collaborators will be recording their parts in locations spread all over the world, there will be appreciable additional studio costs to cover. Beyond this, the cost of mastering, graphics, promotion and manufacturing of a limited edition album, all need to be considered.
Everyone who supports this campaign will receive a digital copy of the album when it's done, PLUS bonus tracks, song demos and other materials not available to the general public. You’ll also receive periodic updates, behind the scene videos and, of course, the satisfaction of knowing that you’re helping to keep music alive, during this difficult time.
Here's a demo of one of the many songs, I'll be recording. "I Am Not Your Song" is a song, about songwriting, written from the point of view of the song:
