Hi, my name is Jonny and I'm fighting squamous cell carcinoma for the second time in one year.
Last year's battle consisted of 35 daily radiation treatments to my epiglottis (in my throat) plus 7 chemotherapy sessions. This year will be the same, along with a radical neck dissection operation with a hospital stay.
I'm trying to pay for my insurance while not being able to work, which costs $1,200 a month/$12,500 out of pocket. My share for OTC products and scans to see if I'm cancer-free is crazy. For a PET scan and CT scan, it's $1,250 alone out of my pocket. On 10/28/24, I rang the radiation bell; this year on that day, I was back planning more radiation and chemo. At 63 yrs old this will be tough one.
As little as $2 will help buy ointment for radiation burns to my neck.
Thanks so much!
Jonny
