We are those people…

I’m Jonna (and my husband, Brandon)… we are the people they’re talking about that live month-to-month and all it takes is one medical event to be financially devastated. I’ve just been diagnosed with uterine and lung cancer. Manageable, and caught early. However, they both involve major surgery and both of us being self-employed means if you’re not working, you’re not making money… in fact, you’re losing money.

Our health insurance has doubled to $2000 a month. That increase combined with an out-of-pocket max of $10,000 plus the additional medical bills and the loss of my income over the next 6mos will create a burden that we cannot bear. And, the stress of the impending financial tidal wave is increasingly harder to override. I know many can relate to that knot in your gut and the conversation in your head when you wake up in the middle of the night and can’t sleep. None of this is good for fighting cancer or healing from it.

They say there’s no shame in asking for help… so, I’m asking… Please help if you’re able. My gratitude knows no bounds.
