Jonina Turzi has always been a source of strength and compassion for those around her. As a physical therapist and yoga instructor, she has helped countless people overcome their own health challenges, offering not just her expertise but her genuine care and encouragement. Beyond her professional work, Jonina is the cofounder of Lancaster Farm Sanctuary, where she has volunteered for eight years to ensure that rescued animals receive the love and care they deserve. Her dedication to the sanctuary has meant working for free, putting the needs of others—human and animal—before her own.

Recently, Jonina was diagnosed with a rare sarcoma cancer. Because of the nature of this illness, she cannot receive treatment at her local cancer center and must travel to Philadelphia for specialized care. The financial strain is daunting: her insurance will barely cover the costs, and as a fee-for-service physical therapist, she doesn’t get paid when she’s unable to work. On top of that, her salary has already decreased by more than half in recent years due to the countless hours she spends volunteering at the sanctuary.
