On May 11th, the Jones Fire in Wickenburg, Arizona, crossed the Southside of the wash and quickly made its way toward the downtown area. Firefighters and airtankers worked tirelessly to get it under control before the downtown was engulfed in flames. Explosions could be heard clear across town as the fire swept through the motorhome park, causing cars and propane tanks to explode.

This morning, homeowners were sifting through the rubble of all that they owned, facing the heartbreaking reality of losing their homes and possessions. The devastation has left families without a place to stay and without the essentials they need to begin rebuilding their lives. The community has come together to support those affected, showing resilience and compassion in the face of tragedy.

The funds raised will help these individuals find temporary housing and replace essentials while they work to get back on their feet. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference for those who have lost so much.

I'm working with the hospital, Town staff, emergency personnel, local pastors and nonprofit organizations to help determine the personal needs of the victims of the fire. We've been assessing the needs of each family and individual impacted. We want to fairly and equitably distribute all funds based on the victims current resources and needs. Other funds donated have already gone to pay for temporary housing till more permanent arrangements can be made. I will be transferring all funds over to the Wickenburg Rotary Club, so all funds will be distributed through the organization. Funds will be additionally assisting with rents, food, clothing, household goods and work equipment. Our goal is to get them back on their feet as quickly as possible.

How you are related to the person(s) you are raising funds for? I am not personally related to any of individuals impacted by the fire. Just a concerned citizen of the community whose office is right next to the trailer park that burnt down.

Your transfer plan to get the funds from your GoFundMe to the intended recipient(s). If GoFundMe will releases the funds, I will then be transferring the funds to the Wickenburg Rotary Club who have already been writing checks to cover the temporary housing of the victims. Checks will then be written to cover more permanent housing and go towards gift certificates for clothing and food. Any remaining funds will then go as cash to the victims as equitably as possible based on all the provisions that community as been able to provide them.
