Support Jonathon's Life-Saving Kidney Transplant
Donation protected
At the age of 24, Jonathon’s life has recently been turned upside down, yet again. Over the last few months, Jonathon has not been feeling well and recently, it prompted a visit to the ER. After weeks of feeling generally nauseated and weak he finally decided that medical attention was necessary. It only took an hour in the ER for his blood test results to reveal that he was suffering from Kidney failure. Thanks to the quick response at Medical City Sacshe, Jonathon was immediately transported to the Plano campus where he would be seen by Renal specialist that night. Within 48 hours, the news was delivered that he was afflicted with a Chronic Renal Disease and he would require a kidney transplant. He will have to undergo dialysis 3 times a week at the beginning stages and then transition into having to do dialysis everyday until the transplant donor is found.
This is not the first hard message Jonathon has received about his health and well being over the last year. In August of 2023; after years of suffering from near blindness, migraines, mental and physical fatigue Jonathon learned that he had a brain tumor. To be specific, a Prolactinoma. The neuro-surgeon said it was one of the largest he’d seen in his 40 years of practicing medicine. The treatment is ongoing and through modern medicine the tumor has reduced in size and the terrible side affects have subsided. This type of tumor, although not fatal (normally) does require ongoing evaluation and treatment throughout the remainder of Jonathons life. It is not unlikely that he will have to under-go brain surgery at some point to remove the tumor, depending on the effectiveness of the medicines.
Jonathon is now on the National list for a living donor. There has been an out-pouring of family and friends going through the process to see if they may qualify (as a living donor) to expedite the procedure. No matter what, we are praying for a quick and expeditious response and know that God will deliver.
Jonathon will have a long, challenging road ahead to rehabilitate from the impacts these medical setbacks. He will have to undergo dialysis 3 times a week for the duration of the waiting period. This, along with the multiple doctor’s appointments and other counseling will certainly result in missed time and focus on his career. We are asking for any contribution you may be willing to provide to help him navigate these rough waters and keep his spirits high. Our hope is that he can remain positive and steadfast through this process.
Jonathon and the entire family are extremely grateful for the outpouring of prayers, love, and support that we have received from so many people during this difficult time.
We initiated this GoFundMe site so that we can help take the financial challenges off of Jonathon’s plate...so he can focus solely on getting healthy. We are all praying for Jonathon to make a full recovery. Let’s allow him to focus fully on his health and show him that the love and generosity that he has shown supporting so many others over the years is returned to him now that he is facing the biggest challenge of his life.
We love you, Jonathon
