My nephew, Jonathon Gomes, is a proud veteran who fought bravely for our freedom during the Afghanistan war. He is a good man—one who has served our country with honor, witnessed hardships most of us can’t imagine, and sacrificed more than many ever will.

Today, Jonathon and his family need our help. He recently suffered severe injuries to his pelvis and femur, leaving doctors uncertain if he will ever walk again. Although he is currently in stable condition, the road ahead is long, painful, and full of unknowns.

This is not something I ever imagined doing, nor something I do lightly, but these circumstances compel me to reach out on his behalf. Jonathon’s wife and children are facing an incredibly difficult time, and I want to do everything in my power to help support them—so they can focus on healing, recovery, and rebuilding a life that honors the sacrifice he has already given for all of us.
