Jonathan Scherling is not just my good friend—he’s truly a brother from another mother. On Wednesday, February 11, Jonathan was riding home on his pedicab (bike taxi), just one block from his house, when he was struck by a car. The accident left him with a fractured skull, traumatic brain injury, and broken ribs. He’s already undergone surgery and is now on the long road to recovery. I’ve been visiting Jon, and I’m grateful to see him improving every day, but the journey ahead is still challenging.
