Support Jonathan’s Recovery

On November 6, Jonathan was admitted to the ICU after an MRI discovered a mass on the base of his brain stem .
It was determined that it was a hemangioblastoma as a result of Von Hippel Lindau syndrome. Hemangioblastoma are among the rarest central nervous system tumors, accounting for less than 2%.

He had an invasive surgery on November 15 to remove most of the 2x2 tumor and is now in critical condition in the ICU , being kept intubated and sedated for the next week as he is open to an infection, spinal fluid leak , lesions forming down his spinal cord , or a stroke .

Once Jon can breathe on his own , his care team will evaluate him for chemotherapy to remove the remaining lesion that could not be removed due to risk of paralysis .
He has a long road ahead of him after recovery , including physical therapy and rehabilitation to gain his motor skills back .

We have created this Gofundme to assist his family - his wife Cristina and little girls June and Iris , with medical expenses and support throughout this journey .
