Our friend Jonathan LeBlanc has been through the fight of his life.
Jonathan was diagnosed with stage 4 oral cancer, with a tumor measuring 8.5 inches long and 2 inches wide, spanning from his entire right jaw to the middle of his chin. Doctors initially gave him just a 15 percent chance to live. Thanks to the incredible work of his medical team, including oncologist Brian Sawyer, primary care and palliative specialist Zheena Chang, radiologist Dominic Moon, and surgeon Dr. Kang, Jonathan underwent a grueling 12.5-hour surgery that ultimately saved his life.
His journey has been nothing short of intense:
• Jaw reconstruction using bone from his tibia
• Skin graft from his leg to rebuild his face
• 2,200 stitches across his leg and face
• 53 radiation treatments completed January 22
• 7 cisplatin chemotherapy infusions
• 7 immunotherapy infusions, with treatments continuing twice monthly for the next year
• Ongoing CT scans every 3 months for the next 2 years
HUGE shout out to Mike Law! Everything above would not have happened without his help making sure Jonathan could make all his appointments.
Today, we are incredibly grateful to share that Jonathan is currently cancer-free! His next PET scan on April 6 will give us the next important update.
However, the battle is not over.
Jonathan is still recovering and remains very lethargic. While he is working when he physically can, his energy and health limitations make it difficult to keep up financially. On top of this, he is in search of new housing starting March 1, adding another layer of stress during an already fragile time.
Right now, Jonathan’s focus needs to be on healing, not worrying about how to keep a roof over his head or how to cover everyday expenses.
How your support will help:
• Secure stable housing beginning March 1
• Cover ongoing medical and treatment-related costs
• Help with basic living expenses while he regains strength
• Allow Jonathan the time and space to fully recover
Jonathan has fought incredibly hard to get to this point. If you are able, any donation, big or small, will make a meaningful difference in helping him continue forward without the crushing weight of financial stress.
If you cannot donate, please consider sharing this campaign and keeping Jonathan in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you for supporting Jonathan’s continued recovery and giving him the chance to focus on what matters most, healing and getting his life back!
