I have known Jonathan for 20 years, mostly as his Compassion international sponsor. We have kept in touch through the years and we have been helping him navigate medical school to become an anesthesiologist. He is currently months away from graduation, however he has been diagnosed with a liver cyst that needs to be removed to prevent liver failure. He is currently admitted to the ICU in Kenya, awaiting surgery. There is no health insurance there; they have to pay cash upfront for the surgery.
