Help me preserve the legacy of the Gettysburg movie and associated films …

Hello my name is Jonathan James Pinkerton

As many of you know, I have been a fan of the film Gettysburg since I saw the film back in 1993. Since then, it has been a passion of mine to collect as many artifacts , props , rare photos , as I can from the ( Films ) by films I mean I am also a big fan of the film Gods And Generals.

For the past 18 years I have been on a quest to locate all these uniforms that have been displayed on the big screen. I have been fortunate enough to become friends with many of the actors. And these amazing actors have graciously supported me on this journey and gifted me many of their personal uniforms. Many of the other uniforms has been journey such as tracking them down through Facebook, and leads from other actors.

My goal now is to be able to create a permanent home for all of the uniforms and movie related articles so that they may be enjoyed by the many people and fans. I am asking for your help if possible, to raise the funds to finally create a museum to call home for all of these amazing artifacts.

Hopefully, that while these artifacts are from an entertaining film, they also remind us of the significance and history of Gettysburg, the civil war and the role that Pennsylvania played.

It was a real honor to be asked to help put the 25th anniversary together.. but the 30th anniversary was the most special one to me.. working with amazing groups and friends such as American Battlefield Trust & Adams County Historical Society, It was a very successful event.

I get to see my collection daily, but now I believe it’s time for everyone else to see and enjoy them I also hope future generations can see these artifacts and learn not only about this epic film but about the actual history that inspired it.

If this effort is not successful the funds will be donated to the worthy entities that preserve the history and battlefields.
