Hello, my name is Jonathan. I'm 53 years old and a father. I have recently been diagnosed with renal cell carcinoma. I also have a blood condition called Factor V Leiden thrombophilia with factor 8 protein mutation, which is a fancy way of saying I throw blood clots constantly. Currently, I have a cancerous tumor on my left kidney. Because of my blood condition, it is very problematic and can lead to death if the kidney is taken. The reason for this is the blood condition I have could make me stroke, have a pulmonary embolism, clot the other kidney, or any other plethora of dire medical complications. Also contributing to the severity of what's going on, currently my portal vein to my liver is 100% occluded by a large clot that is inoperable.

The reason I'm asking for this money is for travel back and forth out of state for any procedures that can be found that could help me. And most of the money left over I'm putting into a funeral fund because I do not have burial or life insurance. I do not want that burden to follow my children. I'm currently disabled, as you could imagine, and I'm on a fixed income. Disability income barely covers normal expenses for the month. So anytime I have to travel out of state, usually to New Orleans, I have to borrow money from my parents who are in their 70s and retired. It is taking a great amount of humility to ask for this. Please understand that this is my last resort in order to finance the grim reality to come. I do pray that they will find a procedure that I will be able to attempt in New Orleans at the Ochsner Oncology Center. So far, my doctors have been very, very good in helping me and steering me in the right direction. Thank you very much for any consideration you may give. God bless every one of you.
