Hi, my name is Eric Womack and I'm fundraising for my brother Jonathan Womack. Jon is 40 yrs old, a devoted husband of 17 years to his wife Melissa, and the father of 2 beautiful young girls, ages 11 and 6. He is the 3rd of 4 brothers who are closer than anyone could ever imagine. He has worked hard his entire adult life to provide for his family and ensure their every need is met. However, last year Jon suffered an injury that ultimately resulted in him needing a total hip replacement. Though the surgery was considered a success, in the weeks thereafter, the strain of that surgery began to show in Jon’s overall health. After countless doctor visits and hospital stays to no avail, Jon was eventually admitted to University Medical Center in Jackson where they would finally have a diagnosis. Jon’s hip replacement surgery caused a trauma-like effect to his system and organs such that in response, his liver didn’t resume function when he awoke from surgery. Jon is now in liver failure and his kidneys have also begun to shut down. He is on dialysis and will require a full liver and kidney transplant. Jon has spent this last year in and out of UMC for weeks on end not able to work to provide for his family. The medical and travel expenses they incur are significant and overwhelming as they travel back and forth to Jackson multiple times a week for treatment. Please know that no gift is too small. Any donations would be greatly appreciated as we try to help relieve them of some of this financial burden as it shouldn’t be their primary concern at this time.
