Hello. My name is Jonathan Driscoll. I am 36 years old. In October 2024, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor the size of a lime that I have apparently had for 30 years. I've since undergone 4 brain surgeries, 4 lumbar drain surgeries, and a brain shunt surgery. This was all in a period of 6 months. I was diagnosed with hydrocephalus and Foster Kennedy syndrome, chronic post-operation pain, cerebellar tumor, an acoustic schwannoma, seizures, complete single-sided deafness, high blood pressure, and a liver lesion. My wonderful wife and best friend, Samantha, has been by my side helping me get better every step. She saved my life, truly. The surgeries were successful in reducing the size and decompressing the brain stem. There have been complications with these operations. I've spent weeks in the ICU, countless hospital stays, MRIs, CTs, and follow-up appointments. I'm on a lot of medications. Currently, I'm in physical therapy and I am learning to walk correctly again (neurological signal issues). I am unable to return to work for possibly up to a year. I fear I may never be able to do what I love again. I'm an electrician. I've been denied disability and unemployment.
My wife and I are drowning in debt with things like rent, medical bills, car payment, and credit card payments stacking up. We have had to max out credit cards to stay afloat. We only have one vehicle in good working condition. It's a truck that's hard for me to get in. My wife works at the hospital as a patient care technician. She is amazing at her job and loves taking care of people. She has had to reduce the number of hours she works to take me to the many, many follow-up appointments I'm currently going through. I am unable to drive at this current time due to the many medications I'm on and my eyesight (Foster Kennedy syndrome).
We are asking for help to get us by until I can heal and return to work. We will use your generous donations to pay for hearing aids, physical therapy payments, medical bills, rent/living expenses and possibly a cheap small car to better get around. We are faithful, hopeful, and praying that I will make a full recovery and we will get back on our feet. I know I can beat this. I've already been through so much and remain unbreakable.
