Hello! This is my dog, Jonah. He’s a 6 year old Australian Cattle Dog/Border Collie. I adopted him in June 2021, and prior to that he had FHO surgery on his left hip due to either being hit by a car or significant abuse.
He has thrived in the last 4 years and become the perfect fur child for me. A couple weeks ago I noticed he started limping on his right leg. It all came to a head when there was a loud pop in his knee, and he couldn’t get up from sitting on the floor. He was finally able to limp closer to me before he collapsed and I saw the joint pop and slide past each other again.
It turns out he has a tear on his cranial cruciate ligament and will need TPLO surgery as soon as possible to prevent degenerative joint disease. I was not prepared for this emotionally or financially. This surgery after the costs of check ups and everything will be approximately $4,500. I’m an elementary school teacher that is taking on a second and possibly a third job to pay for this.
Thank you for taking the time to read about his injury. I am truly grateful for any donation that you are willing to make. Any support in any way is highly appreciated!
