We are creating this GoFundMe to support my brother, Jon Gipe, as he faces an incredibly challenging and unexpected medical journey that has left him unable to work for an unknown period of time.

For the past three years, Jon has been dealing with a persistent leg wound that would not heal. With no viable options left, he underwent a below-the-knee amputation on January 5th.

He is now back home, but his recovery is far from over as he relearns everyday tasks. Doctors expect it may be several months before he is able to receive and begin using a prosthetic.

At the same time, Jon has been diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of blood cancer. Due to the severity of his wound and the amputation, treatment for the cancer had to be postponed. Once his body has healed sufficiently, he is expected to undergo chemotherapy followed by a bone marrow transplant. After the transplant, Jon will have to remain hospitalized for up to six weeks, followed by a prolonged recovery period.

Throughout much of this ordeal, Jon continued working as a mechanic but following the amputation he is currently unable to work. This fund is meant to help ease the burden of mounting bills and everyday living expenses, allowing Jon to focus on healing and recovery.

Jon has always been a strong, resilient, and generous person. Asking for help doesn’t come easily, but right now, community support can make a real difference.
