Support Jon Buckey's Cancer Fight

Dear friends,

In the spirit of community & unwavering hope and perseverance, please join us in helping our friend and fellow service industry professional, Jon Buckey (Buckey to most) a Traverse City resident of 30 years and well loved bartender by trade as he begins his battle with cancer.

Buckey is the proud father of two children, James Buckey (16) and Shay Thayer (22). He is an outdoor enthusiast and enjoys time on the beaches and foraging for mushrooms in the woods of beautiful northern Michigan.

Buckey grew up in Saginaw and moved to TC in ‘96. He began his career in the industry working for Schelde’s for 5 years and then Brady’s Bar for 22 years. He is currently a jack-of-all-trades at Lil Bo, splitting his time between bar and back of house where he is a valued employee, co-worker and friend to all.

Buckey is in need of our financial support while he undergoes treatment for cancer. The cost of cancer treatment is more than financial. The emotional and physical demands are great. Let’s rally together to help ease the financial burden that he is dealing with so that he can focus on his health during this critical time. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference.
