Dear family and friends,

On June 15th, my brother Jon and his fiancé Irina got in a major ATV accident. They were riding on a trail and didn’t realize that the river washed away the existing trail over the hill. They flew approximately 15ft off the edge, hitting rocks and logs below. They both lost consciousness, but Jon woke first and was able to call 911 and get help. An ambulance arrived hours later and transported them to Fairbanks hospital. Jon sustained head trauma and a fractured rib. Irina, unfortunately, faced extensive trauma to her spine that required her to be transported by airplane to Anchorage for an emergency spine surgery. They are both recovering well but are now facing financial difficulties. Irina won’t be able to work for at least 6 weeks so she can heal. Any excessive movement can hinder recovery.
