Jolene Saint is a cinephile who frequents the Music Box and Gene Siskel, a selfless friend who often offers rides to anyone in need, and a tireless worker whose been working as a "helper" with a construction company to gain experience as an electrician.
My name is Riley Yaxley, and I'm raising money to support Jolene as she transitions into an electrician apprenticeship program. We are hoping to fundraise $5k to cover Jolene's groceries, rent, and transportation costs while Jolene is unable to work and ease her transition into her new career.
Jolene was recently accepted into IBEW 134 (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) to become an apprentice electrician and will be starting school on January 5, 2026 and will be unable to work for three months due to the schooling schedule which conflicts with the typical hours for her construction job. Jolene will receive $200/week from Chicago Women in Trades to offset the cost of being unable to work; however, this small stipend does not entirely offset the cost of living during this period.
Please consider donating if you're able to support Jolene, any amount is greatly appreciated. You can donate through GoFundMe or directly through Venmo (@SaintandSword) to help Jolene's journey to become an electrician.
Jolene is a beloved friend and community member, and we want to ensure she has the means to weather this moment of insecurity and make this transition without incurring significant debt. <3
