Support Jolene's Fight Against Cancer

Donation protected
I am starting this GoFundMe on behalf of John, Jolene, and their family. They hold a special place in my heart.

In April of this year, 2024, Jolene was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroendocrine Carcinoma with a metastized tumor. Due to her rigorous treatments, which started right away, she has not been able to work since then. Jolene worked as an RN at the Mpls VA Medical Center for 24 years. Her first 9 years on the Acute Care Unit and the last 15 with the Hospice/Palliative Care Unit. The loss of her income has put a terrible strain on their ability to keep up with the daily household expenses in addition to their monthly living expenses and medical bills.

John had plans to retire from his job as a letter carrier for the USPS in June of this year. He has worked for them for 25 years. Due to Jolene's cancer, John has continued working full-time plus overtime every week. Every penny that John earns is still not enough to meet their financial needs. It has been very difficult for both of them to be apart so many hours each day during this trying time.

I would like to tell you a little bit about their children. Tyler is 23, graduated in 2023 from the University of MN Twin Cities campus. He majored in Aerospace Engineering and double minored in Computer Science and Astrophysics. He has been accepted into the United States Space Force and just received his orders into Officer Training School starting January 13th, 2025. Nice job, Tyler!
He has been working for FedEx Ground, night shift. This allows him to help Jolene during the day until John gets home from work.

Ariana (Ari) is 18 and started her freshman year at St. Catherine University in St. Paul. She is doing very well there, becoming familiar with college life, carrying a full class schedule (18 credits), and playing soccer for them. Their team is undefeated in conference play and they are the top seed for the playoffs. GO WILDCATS!!! She is majoring in Marketing and American Sign Language. Your donations will also help with Ari's incidental needs at college.

We are so Thankful and Blessed for GoFundMe and for your help during this difficult time. Your donation of any amount, truly, does not go unrecognized. This is a tremendous asking for a wonderful family that is in so much need of some financial relief. John, Jolene, Tyler, and Ari Thank you with all their hearts and look forward to being able to strengthen their focus and energies on Jolene's healing.

Please keep them in prayer.
