Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted souls,

We are reaching out to you during a challenging time for our beloved Joanne (Jojo) Shoemate and her family. On May 10th, Jojo faced an unexpected and life-altering emergency when she underwent a C-section at 33-weeks to welcome her beautiful baby boy, Indigo Evangel Shoemate. While he is now thriving and growing stronger every day, Jojo’s life took a heartbreaking turn.

Just 2 days after the birth, Jojo suffered a cardiac arrest due to a pulmonary embolism. The doctors fought tirelessly for her life, and for a time, they didn’t think she would make it. However, her strength and determination, and God’s grace and protection, have proven them wrong. After spending several weeks on life support and fighting against all odds, she is now a warrior in recovery.

For the past four months, Jojo has been at Siskin Rehabilitation Center battling her anoxic brain injury and focusing on her healing and regaining her strength. As she prepares to return home, her family is filled with hope and faith, but they face significant challenges ahead. They need your help to ensure that she has the resources she needs to continue her journey to full recovery.

How You Can Help:

The funds raised will go directly to supporting Jojo’s critical ongoing healing process, including:

**Specialized Therapy: Enrollment in a Disorders of Consciousness (DOC) program to aid in her recovery.
**Transportation: Medical flight to transport Jojo to a DOC program.
**Medical Expenses: Jojo's time spent in the ICU as well as two acute care facilities
**Medical Necessities: Items such as a hospital bed, bath chair, in-home physical therapy equipment and other essential medical appliances that will support her daily needs.

Jojo’s family has been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, support, and powerful prayers from believers in countries around the world. They are deeply grateful for every gesture of kindness and every prayer sent their way.
