Hello, my name's Bobbie-Jo, or as a lot of you know me, JoJo. When I moved to Eutawville in 2019 with my kids, it was under the impression from my aunt that the property we were moving to was to be the family compound. Over the years, over and over, she told me and my kids we would never have to worry about losing our place to live, that she was passing the property to us. My aunt, mother, two sisters, gram, and myself started The Shire Animal Rescue and Farm. But over the years, since my gram got sick with Alzheimer’s and my sisters have since moved out to explore other life goals, it was on me, my mother, and aunt, and the amazing help of my kids to care for my gram and all of the animals that have been taken on since opening. Well, a year and a half ago, my gram passed, and things got really hard. We have stopped intake and downsized a large amount and have focused on trying to fix up the property. The agreement we have always had with my aunt was if we paid property tax, she would sign the property to us. She no longer wanted it or the rescue and to just move on. We have paid the property tax for this year, and two weeks ago, we were served with an eviction. We went to court yesterday, and the judge said since the state of South Carolina does not require a verbal contract to be honored, it has to be a written one. She is allowed to go back on her word and evict us. We have 29 days to find a new property that can house us and all of the animals. Which, as everyone knows, isn’t long at all. We have paid the property tax every year for the last seven years. We have been the only ones to fix the well, to service the septic, on top of each adult putting in at least $600 every two weeks to go towards animals and household bills. With us just paying property taxes for this year, which was around $3400, and replacing the well, which cost $1300, along with the new goat and dog fencing we spent $600 on, and the floors we started replacing that we have spent $1500, we are left with nothing to help with this move as we also just had to replace our car. We are asking for help to find a safe place for us and all of the rescue animals that we still have. We still have a total of 24 dogs (that personal, working, and rescue dogs) 4 goats along with a total of 20 cats (most outdoor) three chickens and thee ducks. For us to get back any of the money we put in, the judge told us we have to sue her, but that again costs money that at the moment, with everything we have done for the property, we just don’t have.

There is just under 4 acres available in the same town We are currently located in that is willing to work an owner finance with us but we need 10,000 down. And then monthly payments of $1521 which once we moved and settled into the property and have it set up for the animal safety and ours is very manageable. Please help us get a safe place for all the animals still left and our selves.
