Love Starts Within the Void of Entherowal
A Visual Ritual Film + Album Journey

Hi, my name is Jojo Buchmann — also known as Ethereal Hibiscus — a queer Japanese German Venezuelan indigenous artist, musician, and painter born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, and now studying at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York.

I’m reaching out with deep vulnerability and vision to ask for your support in creating my most personal and ambitious project yet: a visual album and experimental art film called
Love Starts Within the Void of Entherowal.

About the Project

This is a spiritual, sonic, and visual journey — rooted in healing, identity reclamation, and ancestral memory. The short film, paired with an avant-garde album I’ve composed between Arkansas and NYC, tells the story of an alien soul becoming human and finding their way back to themselves.

It’s not just a film — it’s a ritual performance, a dreamscape, and a healing space. I’m blending original music, ceremonial visuals, painting, and poetry to explore the ache of not belonging — even in your own home, city, or skin — and alchemizing that pain into something sacred, soft, and powerful.

Why I'm Asking for Help

Growing up in Arkansas and now navigating life in NYC, I’ve struggled to find spaces that truly celebrated my voice. I know I’m not alone in that. This project was born from the ache of that absence — and the longing to create what I never had.

I’ve carried this vision with me through Central High School and now through my artistic studies in New York. I’ve done as much as I can on my own. Now I’m inviting community — from Arkansas, from Brooklyn, from anywhere this message reaches — to help me bring it to life.

I’m Raising $10,000 to:

Film and produce the visual ritual-performance piece
Cover location, lighting, and equipment costs
️ Fund post-production (editing, sound design, color grading)
Build an immersive installation and art event in Little Rock / Brooklyn
‍♀️ Print self-reflection journals and visuals for guests
Cover transportation and crew support
✨ Bring this project back to where it all began — Arkansas — with integrity and love
Why This Matters

In a world that too often erases queer, sensitive, and artistic people — especially Black, Brown, and Southern youth — this film says:
You are sacred. Your softness is power. You deserve to be seen.

This is a homecoming, but also a cosmic awakening — a portal for others to feel safe, reflect, cry, dream, and come home to themselves.

It’s also launching during Back-to-School season — a symbolic time of rebirth and courage. Just like students returning to uncertain spaces, I’m returning to Arkansas & nyc with the art and story I wish I had growing up.
