My son, Joseph “Jojo” Bourne, has been diagnosed with Stage II Embryonal Carcinoma, which is a very aggressive and fast-spreading cancer. Jojo is 36 years young and has 5 beautiful daughters: Tya (18), Mia (10), Avah (8), Ziya (3), and Aiyana (1). Jojo loves his girls and loves spending time with them, from letting them put makeup on him, painting his finger and toenails , to dance recitals, days at the beach, playground, or just a walk.

Jojo has worked in concrete since he graduated from high school. He takes pride in his work and is an extremely hard worker, even when the temperatures are at the highest during the summer months and the coldest during the winter.

Jojo went to the doctor for a lump in his testicle on August 4th, which was determined to be a tumor. On August 6th, he was sent to Avera Cancer Institute in Sioux Falls, where he was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer, and on August 7th, he underwent surgery to remove the tumor. We hoped and prayed the cancer was confined and all was removed. At his follow-up, it was determined that the cancer had spread into the lymph nodes in his abdomen, and a 1” tumor was found. On October 2nd, he met with the doctor and staff to set up his chemotherapy treatment, which he will start on October 20th. Everything happened extremely fast.

Jojo is still trying to work in concrete but has begun to feel the effects of the cancer and the toll it is taking on his body. He has had a lot of support and prayers from family and friends, which he is truly grateful for. We know times are very tough right now for everyone, but any financial assistance would be more than greatly appreciated. This will be used to pay for any medical and living expenses he will need.
