John Albright has been my boyfriend for two years, and he’s the most hardworking, ambitious, and caring person I know. He’s always been there for me and our two corgis, Remington and Cowboy, bringing so much love and joy into our lives. Recently, John suffered a devastating work-related accident while power washing in an enclosed parking garage. The motor on the power washer overheated, and when he went to refuel, a tragic accident occurred—a gas can exploded, and John was caught in the fire. He tried desperately to put out the flames, but in the chaos, he suffered deep second-degree burns on his ear, neck, chest, arm, hand, side, back, and stomach, and third-degree burns on his right hand. A stranger’s quick action saved his life, and John has been in the ICU since Thursday, already undergoing one surgery with more to come. His recovery will be long and challenging, with at least two weeks in the hospital, followed by 1-2 months at home and extensive physical therapy for his right hand, which will require a skin graft.
We are also in the middle of closing on our house in just nine days, and with John unable to help, we’re facing moving expenses and the need to set up a comfortable recovery space for him at home. The funds raised will go directly toward therapy, lost income, moving costs, and making sure John has everything he needs to heal and regain his strength.
Anything helps, and we’re pushing through this dark time the best we can. John has been a trooper, and we’re so thankful for everyone who’s been praying for us and for the big community that surrounds us. Your support, whether through donations or sharing our story, means the world to us. Thank you for helping us get through this and for giving John the chance to recover and return to the life he loves.
