Support John's Battle Against Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer
Donation protected
John has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic rectal cancer. The mass in his colon is about 8cm (the size of a baseball). Treatment options are an aggressive round of chemo, possibly radiation, and surgery. Which will leave John with a colostomy bag. *** UPDATE *** The mass has reduced in size a little bit. Unfortunately the cancer has spread and John is no longer a treat to cure case it’s a treat until progression. He won’t be eligible for surgery now. Please consider donating to the go fund me to help supplement the loss of income I may incur to take John to treatments and care for him. As well as co-pays, gas, parking, and medical expenses and necessities that will come up.
Here’s a little bit about John. He has been my whole world since I’ve been 19. He was a hard worker. Working his paving job that he loved so much. We had 3 children between the both of us. John became ill in 2003 with Lyme Disease. He got so sick physically and mentally that he became disabled and was unable to keep working. But that didn’t stop him! Even with all his ailments he fought hard and used all of his time he would have use to work and focused on raising our children so that I could work. Over the years John found ways to keep himself busy. Like volunteering at the Boys and Girls club, coaching for the floor hockey teams, fishing, helping friends and family any time they called upon him, enjoying a morning coffee at Dunks and while there if he seen someone down on his luck he would get them a coffee or food, basically being a great guy all around. He would give the shirt off his back if he seen someone in need. This is really hard for us to ask for money. But John was the caretaker for his mom who lives with us and is currently going through treatment for stage 3 lung cancer. She is on oxygen 100% of the time. As you can imagine I’ve got my hands full with the both of them. I am now responsible to make sure they are both getting their treatment for cancer, getting to appointments, scheduling visiting nurses, making sure they are taking their medication, preparing and cooking meals for them, and the list goes on and on with all my caretaking duties. I am now the sole caretaker for them both when John and I shared that duty before his cancer diagnosis. For the past month John has been in and out of the hospital. He is in so much pain it hurts my heart because I can’t help him. John has been there for everyone over the past years. We are asking everyone to please consider helping us during this difficult time. No amount is too small. Anything would be greatly appreciated! Even if your unable to donate. Please share! Thank you!
