John Rolf is a devoted husband, loving father of three, and a skilled mechanic who has spent over a decade helping others. Since 2019, John and I have built a life together, and we were married just over a year ago. Our journey has been filled with love, laughter, and the kind of partnership that makes every day brighter. But in September 2025, everything changed when John was officially diagnosed with ALS caused by a rare FUS gene mutation—a condition that has already taken his grandmother Patricia and mother Diana. The news was devastating, especially knowing how quickly this disease can progress.
John’s diagnosis has brought unexpected challenges. He is no longer able to work, and while we are waiting for disability support to begin, the financial strain is overwhelming. Jacifusen treatments in New York offer hope, but the costs of plane tickets, hotel stays, and commuting to and from the hospital are more than we can manage alone. We had hoped for more time to prepare, but the mutation happened suddenly, leaving us scrambling to cover these urgent expenses. On top of travel, we are facing medication co-pays and the need for specialized equipment as John’s condition progresses.
We are reaching out to our community for help during this difficult time. John has always been the first to lend a hand—whether to friends, family, or even strangers in need. Now, we find ourselves needing that same kindness and support. Your generosity will help us cover the costs of treatment, travel, and care, giving John the best chance to fight this disease and allowing our family to focus on what matters most: being together. Thank you so much for your love and support. We have faith that, with your help, we can stay strong and come out on the other side.
