My brother Johnny is in the fight of his life. Recently he was diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer that has metastasized.

Johnny refuses to give up. He is determined to fight this with everything he has. But right now, he needs some help — and that’s the reason I started this GoFundMe page.

Johnny urgently needs a portable oxygen concentrator that will provide a continuous and easily portable air supply. At the moment, his insurance company is only providing enough oxygen tanks for him to essentially stay in bed. That’s not how Johnny wants to live.

With an oxygen concentrator, Johnny would be able to spend meaningful time with his kids and grandkids, go to church, and continue working on the jobs he has under contract. Most importantly, it would give him the ability to live as normally and actively as possible while he fights this disease.

Johnny is a hardworking man who has several construction jobs under contract, but right now he needs some help finishing them. Most of the work involves pressure washing, painting, and installing siding. If there are any able-bodied people willing to lend a hand, it would mean the world to him and our family.

In addition to medical needs, Johnny could use help covering some basic living expenses while he’s unable to work. Like anyone else, he still has a truck payment, insurance, a phone bill, and everyday costs that don’t stop just because life gets hard.

Johnny has overcome a lot in his life. He is proud to say he has been clean and sober for 14 months, and he is committed to staying that way. Even in the middle of this battle, he wants to continue setting an example for his kids, grandkids, family and friends — showing them what it means to face life’s challenges with strength, dignity, and faith.
