My name is Kristin, and my sister Emma and I are setting up this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friends, the Young Family.

Earlier this week, Johnny Young became suddenly ill while at work. Sensing that something was seriously wrong, he called his mom, and 911 was immediately contacted. Johnny was rushed to the emergency room, where he was quickly intubated, sedated and placed on a ventilator. He was diagnosed with COVID, pneumonia and most recently ARDS.

Despite aggressive treatment, Johnny's condition has continued to worsen. He has now been transferred to a third hospital to be placed on ECMO - a form of artificial heart and lung support - as doctors fight to give his body time to heal.

In addition to prayers, I want to support the Young family financially so they can focus fully on Johnny without the added stress of medical bills and financial loss from time away from work. Both Johnny and his mom Denise (by his side) will be off work for an undetermined amount of time.

Johnny has a long road ahead, but he is strong and surrounded by a loving family and countless friends who are praying and rooting for him.

This family really needs our help. Denise lost her husband -main provider and dear friend of ours - suddenly, just 3 years ago. The loss of him was so unexpected and so painful for this family. He left us way too soon. I'm absolutely heartbroken that she is now facing such a critical situation with her youngest son.
