Support Johnathon's Medical Battle for Recovery!

On December 16th, our baby brother’s life changed in an instant. Without any prior warning, Johnathon suffered a series of severe seizures after work and was rushed to the hospital. Doctors discovered he was in acute kidney failure, requiring immediate dialysis, and placed him on a ventilator to stabilize his condition. Despite their best efforts, his health rapidly deteriorated.

But we did not lose hope. On Christmas Eve, we experienced what we thought was our Christmas miracle. Johnathon was briefly taken off the ventilator and was able to speak with us for the first time since his health crisis began. Hearing his voice, even for just a short while, filled us with hope and gratitude.

By Christmas morning, however, his condition took a turn for the worse. Due to complications, including a severe case of pneumonia, he had to be intubated again. Thankfully, his doctors made the decision to transfer him to Kennestone Hospital in Marietta, where he is now being treated with ECMO therapy—a lifesaving treatment that bypasses the lungs to allow them time to heal. The real Christmas miracle was that a room and the necessary equipment were available for him without any delay on Christmas Day!

Johnathon will get better. His road to recovery will be long, but his strength and resilience give us hope. He has always been the one to lift others up, dedicating so much of himself to helping his family—especially our parents—and volunteering with the Boy Scouts of America, where he has inspired countless others. Now, it’s our turn to support him.

We’ve set an initial goal of $17,000 to hopefully cover his insurance deductibles for this year and next. This is just the starting point, as it won’t cover out-of-network doctors, treatments, or the extensive rehabilitation he will need after leaving the hospital. On top of this, our family is facing a financial strain we never imagined. Both of our parents, as well as us, have put our jobs on hold and are without income while being there for their son—our beloved brother.
