Help Support John Wood in His Fight Against Cancer.

Three months ago, our world turned upside down when a CT scan revealed tumors in his lungs. From that moment, it’s been a rollercoaster of hospital visits, surgeries, and treatments.

His first biopsy at Northside didn’t go as planned. He nearly lost his life and had to be placed on an ECMO device before undergoing an emergency procedure that saved him. After stabilizing, he started care at the Emory Winship Cancer Institute, but before treatment could begin, he was rushed back to the ICU with breathing problems. Another procedure was done, and miraculously, he came home breathing on his own without oxygen.

Despite the aggressive nature of the cancer, there was hope. He started 6 weeks of radiation and lost 40 pounds in the process. After his first chemo treatment, things took another turn—he developed pneumonia and spent over a week in the hospital. On what should have been his second chemo session, we were told he was too weak to continue treatment. That’s when we made the difficult decision to bring him home under hospice care.

Along the way, there have been countless ER trips, ambulance rides, and setbacks. Through it all, John has fought harder than anyone we’ve ever seen. We are focusing on quality of life now and placing our trust in God.

We’re asking for help to cover his medical expenses. Any funds raised beyond our needs will be donated to cancer research in his honor.
