This is pianist Jim Connerley. I am reaching out to you on behalf of John and Siubhan Zappa. For those of you who don’t know, Siubhan currently suffers from Chronic Lyme Disease (CLD). Her symptoms include severe fatigue, joint pain and stiffness, muscle aches, headaches, brain fog, loss of appetite, sleeplessness, anxiety and depression. The symptoms of CLD, like many chronic diseases, can go into remission, and then return periodically. Siubhan’s symptoms have been returning in frequency, duration and severity. In the past year she has had to quit working completely and has lost over thirty pounds.
The treatment necessary for CLD is not covered by most health insurance plans. Since 2020, the Zappas have seen many specialists and spent thousands of dollars on a variety of treatments to help ease Siubhan’s pain and improve her quality of life. While some of the treatments have provided temporary relief of her symptoms, none of them have provided a long-term solution for her CLD.
After years of research, they have found new hope in a facility that treats CLD, the Envita Medical Center located in Scottsdale, Arizona. Siubhan will be treated daily for three to five hours and will need to live in Scottsdale for eight to fourteen weeks.
After speaking with John, I have created this Go Fund Me page to help ease the huge debt they will be facing after Siubhan starts her treatment in February, 2026.
Those of you who know John and Siubhan know them to be some of the finest people in our community. They have already spent all of their savings and have gone into debt trying to treat her CLD. Please take a moment to donate whatever you can to this worthy cause.
