Hello, my name is Jennifer Knab, and I am reaching out to share the story of my incredible dad, John Shaw, who is currently on a challenging journey towards recovery. On August 23, 2025, our world was turned upside down when my dad was admitted to Cooper Hospital due to a severe infection that started in his foot and rapidly spread to his heart, blood, knees, wrists, and even wrapped around his spinal cord.

The past months have been incredibly difficult for our family as my dad endured multiple surgeries and procedures. Through the power of prayer and his unwavering spirit, he has overcome immense odds and is now in a rehabilitation center, learning to walk again and regain his strength. Despite the progress, my dad will need to be on antibiotics for the rest of his life, and he continues to work with occupational and physical therapists every day.

Both of my parents are retired and were working part-time jobs to make ends meet. However, since my dad's illness, neither of them have been able to work. My mom is by his side every day, providing meals, support, and constant encouragement. The mounting hospital bills have placed a significant financial burden on our family.
