Dear friends and family of John Overby,

As many of you know, John, our friend and fellow wood carver, has recently been diagnosed with kidney cancer. He has always been a source of kindness and generosity and now it's our turn to support him through this incredibly challenging time. While the road ahead is uncertain, one thing is clear: the financial burden of his treatment is going to be a lot to manage.

John’s surgery is scheduled for Friday, February 28th, 2025, and will involve a hospital stay followed by a recovery period of four to six weeks. During this time, John will need to take time off from work, and even after he returns, he will require ongoing treatments and follow-up appointments. These treatments will also involve more time away from work and significant travel costs, as John lives an hour from his clinic and two hours from the hospital.

The funds raised will go directly to John to help cover essential expenses, including:

John is one of the kindest, most generous people you will meet, and when I asked if I could start this fundraiser, he hesitated. However, he agreed, recognizing that any help would be invaluable as he focuses on his health.
