Hello Everyone,

My name is Lynnesha Boyd, and on May 6th, my daddy passed away in my arms, surrounded by his daughters and two granddaughters. He had been sick for months, and though he fought hard, he was ready to go home.

Before we even made it to the hospital, he coded three times, and once more after we arrived. Eventually, my mama had to make the incredibly painful decision to let him go. Still, my daddy held on. I laid on his chest and told him, “Daddy, if you’re ready to let go, it’s okay. I’m sorry. I forgive you. I promise I’ll be okay. I’m not mad at you.” At 3:56 PM, he took his final breath in my arms. I held him until I physically couldn’t anymore.

Now, we’re reaching out for help with funeral expenses. I’m speaking on behalf of my mama, who just lost her soulmate of over 40 years, and his children who are mourning the loss of a man we believed was immortal.

If you knew John Lee, you knew he was a giver—someone who would give his last to help another. This loss was sudden and heartbreaking, and we are all still in shock. Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to us.
