Hi there,
I’ve started a GoFundMe to help my brother get a reliable vehicle. As some of you know, he lives with bipolar disorder. Since we lost our mom, he’s worked so hard to stay grounded and stable — and I’m incredibly proud of how far he’s come.
Right now though, he’s stuck. His truck broke down and he has no way to get to the pharmacy for his meds, to buy groceries, or to even get to work. He lives in a rural area, and being without transportation is isolating — which, for someone managing mental illness, can be dangerous.
He’s on disability, and if you’re not familiar, people on SSI can’t have more than $2,000 in resources. That means no savings, no loans — nothing that allows you to prepare for something like a vehicle breaking down. It makes living a stable, healthy life so much harder.
I’m scared for him. He’s trying, but when your basic needs are out of reach, it’s easy to spiral. I want to help him stay on solid ground, and I’m asking for help because I can’t do it alone.
If you can donate, even a little, it would mean the world. And if you can’t, sharing this still helps. Also, if anyone knows of a reliable used vehicle with AWD or 4WD for sale, please reach out — he needs something that can handle winter roads where he lives.
Thank you for reading.
