Support John Hury - Joshua Tree Memorial Park

Hello everyone,

We’re reaching out during a difficult time to share what’s happening with our dad, John Hury. He died on Sunday, November 10 2024, surrounded by friends, family, and loved ones.

Dad always had a deep love for nature, and in keeping with his values, he wanted a “green” burial—a way to return to the earth naturally, leaving a smaller footprint behind.

Our goal is to raise $12,000 to cover the costs associated with this eco-friendly burial. The burial itself will cost about $7,000, while the mortuary charges around $4,000. As of November 12, 2024, we've received an additional $3,500 outside of this GoFundMe, and so I've adjusted our fundraiser goal to reflect the additional donations. Any additional funds will help us cover any related expenses. Dad wanted to be laid to rest at Joshua Tree Memorial Park, surrounded by the beauty he adored and under the stars he loved. We believe that honoring his wishes in this way will bring a sense of peace to everyone who loved him.

This is not an easy ask, but anything you can contribute would mean the world to us. Your donation will help us honor a truly special person who left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
