Support John Hudson's Journey Home
Donation protected
Please help us give John Hudson wings to get home:
John Hudson was admitted to Cincinnati Children's Hospital 2 weeks ago for some routine care. While there, he endured a seizure and a femoral neck fracture in his leg. He since has had surgery to pin it, and is non weight bearing. Another complication has since developed and he is now in the ICU being treated for pneumonia.
His mother Faye is currently not working while remaining by his side.
Once JH is medically stable, it is his wish to get back to Staten Island which will require him to fly home via an air Ambulette. Cincinnati Childrens has submitted to the primary insurance which was denied and is pending an appeal. They will also be submitting to Medicare and Medicaid, but we are unsure of the likelihood and timeliness of this happening. The family is also enduring extra expenses for care during this time. If his secondary insurance comes through, any funds raised will be used towards John’s medical care and unexpected expenses during this time.
We greatly appreciate any donation you can make to getting John Hudson home safely and without pain as a commercial flight and a car are not an option.
After gathering many estimates, we are setting a goal of $30,000 for the air ambulette. The "Caring Knights" have generously donated the first $12,000, and we have anonymous donor of $8,000. Our goal is to close the gap ($10,000) and support the family during this time of need.
In respect of the family's request, we are sharing this only to friends and family via text/ email/ phone. Please refrain from sharing on any social media platform, including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram and X. Instead, if you wish to share this with people who might be interested in supporting the family in this time of need, we ask that you reach out personally and share this message with individuals you know.
