Support John Haley's recovery and burden of medical debt.
Donation protected
John Haley of Salamanca has been a close friend since 9th grade, we graduated from high school together and we were in military service at the same time. That close bond continues today and I am dedicated to helping him with his health and recovery.
He has recently had many complicated medical problems, hospital and rehab stays, tests, and procedures since last year. His health insurance only covers so much, and he is left to pay an exorbitant amount out of pocket for ambulance trips, copays, etc. We would like to help him w/ this Go Fund Me account to climb out of this burden of debt.
John had a right hip replacement 11 years ago and last year started having new pain in this area, and it was realized that his hip prosthesis was broken. During his workup for this repair, it was discovered that he had liver problems, swollen legs and very abnormal blood work. As this surgery was risky, he needed to be stabilized and improve his health as much as possible. During this time, he was unable to walk and endured a great deal of pain.
On March 4th he was able to successfully have his hip prosthesis replaced and he went to rehab for physical therapy.
He endured many complications from a blood clot to cellulitis (infection) of his legs. He also started to retain fluid in his legs and abdomen, making it hard to breathe.
He ended up back in the hospital in April and they removed over 4 liters of fluid from his abdomen. He left the hospital after several days on medicine to control this problem and on a strict diet appropriate for his condition.
John is dedicated to his recovery and with the help of his family and friends he is improving every week, but he still has a long way to go.
John is a loving father, husband and friend to many people in the Salamanca area. He is involved in the Salamanca Legion Post 535 as commander and member of the Legion Riders. He’s always been there for others and now it’s our turn to help him out. Let’s all join together and with our prayers and support John can continue his great service to this community.
