Hello everyone,

My name is Rebecca, and I’m Tracey’s youngest sister. For those of you who may not know, my brother-in-law, John Ford (many know him as Jay), was recently diagnosed with Burkitt lymphoma.

Burkitt lymphoma is an aggressive form of blood cancer that develops from B cells in the immune system and can affect many different parts of the body. Like many cancer diagnoses, this news came suddenly and without warning, bringing unexpected challenges to John and Tracey and their family.

Because of this diagnosis, John will be away from his job as shift supervisor at ReWorld, formerly known as Covanta, for an undetermined amount of time while he undergoes chemotherapy and treatment. Tracey, who is a middle school French teacher, will also need to miss time from work to be by his side for treatments and medical appointments.

John and Tracey are also raising two wonderful boys. Avery is a senior in high school, and Aiden is in 7th grader. Both boys are very involved in activities throughout their schools and community. Before John’s life-altering diagnosis, the family had just begun preparing to send Avery off to college in the fall of 2026.

Right now, our family is asking for the support of our friends, family, and community.
