John’s life took an unexpected turn when he suddenly lost his housing. Now living out of his car, John is doing everything he can to provide for his five children, including his 12-year-old, 10-year-old, and 14-month-old. Despite facing significant challenges, he remains dedicated to supporting his kids and rebuilding his life.

John’s Story: Just a few weeks ago, John’s world was turned upside down when he was unexpectedly forced out of his home. With nowhere to turn and no family nearby in Vermont, he found himself homeless, living in his car. John is a hardworking father with five children, two of whom are adults, while the other three are still young. He is currently the sole provider for his youngest child, struggling to make ends meet while saving for a stable home.

John’s situation is made even more difficult by an ongoing, emotionally challenging relationship with his ex-partner, who has been using their 14-month-old child as leverage against him. Despite his efforts to maintain a relationship with his baby, John has faced severe restrictions on his visitation, making an already painful situation even harder.

Beyond the emotional toll, John is dealing with practical challenges as well. His car, which serves as his home, is in need of essential repairs, including a cracked windshield and new brake pads. He also requires basic necessities for his children, including clothing, a crib, a stroller, and other supplies for his youngest child.
