Support John Drake's Battle Against Cancer

My husband, Tyler Drake, and I are raising money for his brother, John Drake who is battling stage 4 liver, lung, and bone cancer.

Last July, John had surgery on his back due to his severe scoliosis and degenerative disk disease. Unfortunately, the surgery did not take and he was still struggling with pain. The doctor then moved forward with looking into other options and requested another scan. At that time, they found growths in different areas of his body and in October, they were determined to be cancerous - thus resulting in his stage four diagnosis. In late November, John began intense infusion chemotherapy going 3 days a week for almost two months. He had a follow up P.E.T scan on New Years Eve and received great news that his cancer was about 80% gone with only two small growths remaining. At that time, he then began maintenance chemo - only needing to be seen once a month.

However, at his most recent P.E.T scan a week ago, it was discovered the cancer had come back - and with a vengeance. It is now located throughout his entire body-including his brain. At this point, doctors believe John’s best option is a clinical trial of a cancer drug that has shown positive results with patients that have had cancer spread throughout the body. It has been able to target all areas of the body which they feel will be more beneficial than radiation.

He meets with his team this Friday to understand what the next 9 weeks will hold for him and will then begin treatment on Monday.

John has been out of work since June of 2024 and is definitely feeling the effects of that financially. We are hoping to help him with his bills, his lodging stays throughout his clinical treatment, as well as beginning to set aside funds for funeral expenses-which we pray will be far in the future.
