Cancer wasn't part of the retirement plan for our dad. He had looked forward to slowing down and having more time to spend boating, cheering on the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Hurricanes, and most of all, spoiling his grandbabies. But life had other plans. A shoulder injury lead to discovering a diagnosis of Multiple Myeloma and caught all of us off guard. He underwent a bone marrow transplant in February. We had a few months of hope and quiet, but the disease has returned. He's back in the hospital, facing complications from multiple myeloma: dangerously high calcium levels and kidney concerns caused by the breakdown of his bones.
We're preparing for another aggressive round of chemotherapy (KCd), leading us toward CAR-T therapy. The months ahead will be filled with treatments, doctor visits, needles, pokes and mounting medical costs.
But if you know Dad, you know this: he’s a fighter. He’s not just fighting for himself, he’s fighting for all of us. For more time. For more memories. For the chance to do what he loves with the people he loves.
We’re asking for your support. Every donation goes directly to his care and treatment, giving him the strength and resources to keep going.
Thank you for standing with us. Thank you for believing in him. As our MVP always says: “Be good, do good. God bless, and go Bills!” #coakleystrong
