Support John Carlisle’s Recovery from a Broken Back

Our dear community member and friend, John Carlisle, terribly broke his back at the end of May 2024 - completely unrelated to work, by stepping on a wasp and slipping! :( He was extremely lucky not to severe his spinal nerve nor need surgery (thank goodness), but he needs to wear an immobilizing brace for his midsection and neck until he is cleared for physical therapy to then rebuild his strength. The Doctors’ serious orders require him to be completely out of commission from work for at least 3 months to ensure that he does not permanently disable himself.

John’s passion and means of living as a Custom Carpenter and Builder are jeopardized; therefore, his back's recovery is critical in order for him to return to what he loves and to provide for himself and his family.

Maybe you have made a connection with John, the big-hearted community member born and raised in Penn Valley, CA; worked with John B on a construction site during his 32 years in the field; or have only crossed paths with him as a friendly, familiar face in the community at his frequent visits to Holiday Market. We all know that he is the last person to ask for any help, but always the first one willing to offer his assistance, personal time, and even at times, generously help cover someone financially from his modest earnings.

If you could please consider making any contribution possible to help him towards his living expenses during this difficult time when he cannot work, I know he would be sincerely and forever grateful for your help. Your assistance will alleviate his financial hardship during this time when he is not able to earn any income, and ensure that he does not jeopardize his recovery process by pushing himself back to work too soon. This will allow him to heal 100% so that he can then return to construction when he is strong and strive to repay us all in the future, in the John-nature we all know and love.
