On November 12th, 2022, John Bysiewicz had just finished working the “Hot Cocoa 5k” race in the town of Cheshire, Connecticut. After the race, John took advantage of the surprisingly warm November weather and went out for a bike ride. 3 miles into his ride, his life changed forever.

John was hit head-on by a car driving roughly 50 mph. John was going 20 mph in the opposite direction, creating a 70 mph head-on collision. John woke up three days later with no recollection of what had transpired. His wife and sisters were faced with a difficult decision following the crash that left John missing part of his left leg, a broken arm, and a broken right ankle.

Since the day of the crash, John has worked tirelessly throughout his recovery. His self-motivation and determination to get back to a normal way of life is inspiring. John's mentality and perspective on his life changing circumstances is worth sharing and will inspire others to overcome their own difficult circumstances.

We have been given the opprotunity to create a documentary for our senior capstone project at Quinnipiac University. Our group consists of five students each bringing different motivations and perspectives to the team. We aspire to create a documentary that encapsulates who John is and how he has overcome and plans to continue to grow through this difficult part of his life.

John has given us the opprotunity to share his story. It is our ultimate goal to create a documentary that encapsulates all of John's hard work and perseverance. With your help, we can get one step closer to achieving that goal.
