Support John and Vivian After Fire Loss

On the afternoon of July 14, our parents, John and Vivian Tooker suffered a devastating loss as a fire destroyed their garage and damaged their home. The garage and all of its contents were completely lost, as was the adjacent entryway to the house, numerous windows, and the home has smoke and water damage.

Our father’s dream was to retire somewhere quiet where he could connect with nature and the people around him. An avid outdoorsman who loves hunting, fishing, and outdoor life, he loves sharing his knowledge and learning from others. My parents often hosted extended family and friends and welcomed many to their home to share in the natural wonders Lake Ontario and the surrounding area has to offer. There have been numerous fishing and hunting weekends with all the supplies and gear offered by my parents, enjoyed by many. Their garage held all types of outdoor gear; ATV, kayaks, life vests, guns, bows, fishing poles, clothing gear...the list goes on and on. The garage was my father’s haven where you could find him tinkering with things, gardening, using his tools or painting. All the auto body tools my father acquired over his forty-year career are gone. The garage also held many sentimental items and antiques.

Luckily everyone is safe, but there is a great financial burden for our parents. They have homeowners' insurance, but it will not cover the entire cost of rebuilding the garage, cleaning the fire and smoke damage, replacing the front entry, windows, all the personal items that were lost.

My parents do not like accepting charity, but in a situation like this we are reaching out on their behalf for help. We sincerely appreciate any donation that you can afford.
