Hello. My name is Ron Nehemiah Falber-Stroud. My mothers' friends know me as Miah. I am Johanna Falbers' son.

Those of you that are friends with my mother or know her, know her from her work with the homeless community, from being the founder of a nonprofit that helped people keep their dogs, and from her spearheading her Girl Gang where you have helped women, teens, children and pets over the years.

I have watched as her Girl Gang, you - her friends, took women and their pit bulls out of living in tents outside to their own apartments, and moved women and children living outside and into their first homes. I have seen all those the miracles performed because of all of your work with my mother.

For her friends, you have been aware of my mothers heart problems over the last few years. She moved to be closer to us and in the last month, has been out of work twice - first with heart surgery two weeks ago, and then last week she was in an almost fatal car accident.

My mother had to be pried out of her car and when she told the cops she could not move her leg, they told her that she had to hurry before it went up in flames.

My mother just started to walk and is very, very slow.

She's walking with a cane and/or a walker.

She has black and blues all over her chest and knees and legs and has broken ribs. It hurts to walk, talk, cough and shower.

The first two days out of the hospital she wouldn't eat because she refused to need to walk to the rest room.

In the hospital last week, while running a bunch of tests and taking cat scans, they told her to see an oncologist upon release as they found a large dark spot on her colon and are calling it colon cancer. Now, in the midst of not having a vehicle, having been out of work for several weeks (with disability not having kicked in), being in pain all over her body from her head to her knees and back, living alone and taking care of her old dog Lyla and cat Betty, she is trying to recover, and as she said, mentally and emotionally preparing for a possible fight with cancer, her possible future.

I am doing all I can for my mother, but I'm not always able to physically to be there for her. I don't financially have the means to pack up my mother, move her in, or care for her. I'm doing the best I can.

So, this is what I'm asking, and what I'm hoping for....

I don't know how long my mother will be out of work. She will not be receiving any pay this week and her rent is due next week, $1,650.

She cooks for Lyla weekly and Lyla's food is about 40.00 every 10 days.

She can't drive to the store so she will have to have any food delivered through Door Dash or Instacart and they have fees.

another 100.00 in utilities
. Meds are about 100 or so monthly.

She no longer has a car. It's totaled so we're waiting on the insurance company's report on that and we're crossing our fingers, but she may not get anything for that car. My mother was driving a very gas efficient 2007 Hybrid that wasn't the nicest car, but it was my mom's hoopdie, and now it's gone.

She'll need some money to get to doctor appointments when I can't get her there.

I'm setting the goal at 7,500K in the hopes that this could give her two months of living expenses, but I'm still worried about money and her future.

She said that she is selling EVERYTHING - her books, her art, her antiques, her purses, clothing, her furniture - EVERYTHING so that she can travel light moving forward.

She is no quitter, but I think she is doing this for two reasons - so I don't worry about her and money, and so that she leaves me with less responsibilities, later on, fearing the worst. We didn't discuss it, but knowing my mother, I think she is planning for the next phase of her life with worst case scenarios in mind that I refuse to speak of.

I know some of you. I know you from our pack walks, from building fences, delivering hay to dogs in the winter, and from delivering food to people and their pets. She loves all of you, so I'm hoping that you will help me to help her now. She really needs it.

Thank you!!!!
