Support Joey's Future in Memory of Joe Leggo

Together we mourn the tragic loss of Joe Leggo. As the family, friends, and an industry he loved, we are asking for your generous support. Let us remember the energy, commitment, and passion Joe carried for his friends and the fashion industry, and moreover, the love for his son Joey.

Joe was largely influenced by his son, who was born with cerebral palsy. Joe once said, “Joey's smile is contagious; he is the reason I get up and go every day". Joe always felt privileged to be able to offer Joey the best care and therapies. As VP of UbU Clothing, Joe was allowed the flexibility and means to care for Joey in the best way possible. What’s more, Joe was able to use UbU as a creative outlet to support Joey and other individuals with diverse abilities by allowing their talents and artwork to shine on many UbU styles. Joey was a driving force behind virtually everything his father did.

With this GoFundMe, we aim to collect funds to provide continued future financial stability for Joey.

The equipment and therapies that have been afforded to Joey over the last 15 years have allowed him to live life to his fullest potential. As he grows, things like wheelchairs, car seats, orthotics, and braces must grow along with Joey. Furthermore, enrichment items such as adaptive utensils, eye-tracking devices, writing aids, and communication boards all add to Joey's continuing development. Moreover, the therapies and treatments, and transportation to get there, are ongoing necessities.

Our goal is to pay off the $75,000 wheelchair-accessible van that is used to transport Joey to school, appointments, and therapies. Additionally, as he continues to grow through his teen years, we hope to gather enough funds to provide for the next appropriately sized wheelchair and other additional equipment that Joey will need. With what is left, in special honor of Joe, we want Joey to be able to maintain his impeccable sense of fashion, just like his father, with the most colorful and expressive styles.

As those closest to Joe, we know he would not want this GoFundMe, but we also know he would do anything to ensure the well-being and happiness of his son.
