This is Joey the happiest little 6-year-old around. He smiles everyday even though he has been through a lot. He recently went in for some routine ear tube placement which is common in a child with down syndrome due to eustachian tube dysfunction. What was supposed to be a quick in and out procedure turned into his parent's worst nightmare. He had routine labs drawn while in his procedure that resulted once he was released home showing severe abnormalities that required him to be brought back to the hospital.

When they arrived back to the hospital his parents received the devastating news that Joey has B-cell ALL a form of Leukemia. Joey's parents are in need of some assistance as he will need to remain in the hospital while he starts chemotherapy to monitor for toxicity. Joey's mom is wonderful pediatric psychiatric nurse practitioner that is self-employed. Needing to remain in the hospital with Joey will not allow her to operate her business as she usually does which is going to place a financial strain. I am starting this page to help raise some funds so that Joey's parents can focus on him the next couple months while not having to worry about the added financial stress.
